چکیده

ABSTRACT. Siegmund and Worsley (1995) considered the problem of testing for a signal with unknown location and scale in a Gaussian random field defined on N . The test statistic was the maximum of a Gaussian random field in an N 1 dimensional ‘scale space’, N dimensions for location and 1 dimension for the scale of a smoothing kernel. Siegmund and Worsley used two methods, one involving the expected Euler characteristic of the excursion set and the other involving the volume of tubes, to derive an approximate null distribution. The purpose of this paper is to extend the scale space result to the rotation space random field when N 2, where the maximum is taken over all rotations of the filter as well as scales. We apply this result to the problem of searching for activation in brain images obtained by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).

ROTATION SPACE RANDOM FIELDS WITH AN APPLICATION TO fMRI DATA1 BY K. SHAFIE, B. SIGAL,

Siegmund and Worsley considered the problem of testing for a signal with unknown location and scale in a Gaussian random field defined on RN . The test statistic was the maximum of a Gaussian random field in an (N + 1)-dimensional “scale space,” N dimensions for location and one dimension for the scale of a smoothing kernel. Siegmund and Worsley used two methods, one involving the expected Eule...

Adaptive Gaussian Markov Random Fields with Applications in Human Brain Mapping

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has become the standard technology in human brain mapping. Analyses of the massive spatio–temporal fMRI data sets often focus on parametric or nonparametric modeling of the temporal component, while spatial smoothing is based on Gaussian kernels or random fields. A weakness of Gaussian spatial smoothing is underestimation of activation peaks or blurr...

Optimized co-registration method of Spinal cord MR Neuroimaging data analysis and application for generating multi-parameter maps

Introduction: The purpose of multimodal and co-registration In MR Neuroimaging is to fuse two or more sets images (T1, T2, fMRI, DTI, pMRI, …) for combining the different information into a composite correlated data set in order to visualization, re-alignment and generating transform to functional Matrix. Multimodal registration and motion correction in spinal cord MR Neuroimag...

Application of Single-Frequency Time-Space Filtering Technique for Seismic Ground Roll and Random Noise Attenuation

Time-frequency filtering is an acceptable technique for attenuating noise in 2-D (time-space) and 3-D (time-space-space) reflection seismic data. The common approach for this purpose is transforming each seismic signal from 1-D time domain to a 2-D time-frequency domain and then denoising the signal by a designed filter and finally transforming back the filtered signal to original time domain. ...

Application of modified balanced iterative reducing and clustering using hierarchies algorithm in parceling of brain performance using fMRI data

Introduction: Clustering of human brain is a very useful tool for diagnosis, treatment, and tracking of brain tumors. There are several methods in this category in order to do this. In this study, modified balanced iterative reducing and clustering using hierarchies (m-BIRCH) was introduced for brain activation clustering. This algorithm has an appropriate speed and good scalability in dealing ...
